Sunday Sports Wrap - November 2, 2008
This would be that time of year where the big mainstream sports are all going on. We just finished the World Series (argh) and now we are treated to NFL, NBA, and NHL. I always like to check the USA Today daily sports scores to get the mainstream overview.
There is one Premier League match today and another tomorrow. Much to my dismay, I have not had much time to follow the start of the season but I do know Chelsea is on top for now. It is still very early on though.
And..as you may gather...I am a bit short on time today so I will get right to my favorite part of Sunday:
Today in Sports History
1988 - A Mexican radio station erroneously reports Mike Tyson dies in car crash
1990 - The first NBA game is played at the Target Center - Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Dallas Mavericks 98-85
1991 - The Nevada Wolf Pack makes the biggest comeback in NCAA football history (at the time), overcoming a 35-pt deficit in the 3rd quarter and rallying to beat Weber State 55-49
