Girl Pitches Perfect Game Against Boys

Little League Baseball in Williamsport, PA estimates that there are about 50 or 60 perfect games thrown in any given year. This year, one of those games is catching quite a bit of attention. Mackenzie Brown, a 12 year old girl, retired all 18 boys that she faced in a game on Tuesday. She even struck out 12 of those batters. There is no record of how many times this has been accomplished by a girl playing with the boys.

She's creating a lot of buzz for her team in Bayonne, NJ from major media:

CNN/SI

ABC News

NJ Star-Ledger

Boston Herald

The story by Fox 5 Atlanta has more of her thoughts and stats:

"It feels good. I can't explain it. It just feels really good," Brown said.

Facing an all-boy team, Brown struck out 12 of 18 batters, using her fast ball and change-up pitches.

"For the bigger hitters, I was going inside. And for the weaker hitters, I was just throwing it over [the plate]. Just trying to get them out," she said of her strategy. "And it worked."

Brown threw just 70 pitches and the Unico Club beat the McKenzie Post team, 8-0.

That's very very cool. Don't know how I missed this story. Striking out 12 hitters thats serious. And kudos to her catcher for not letting any of those change up get past him.

I know, talk about teamwork! She should be quite proud of herself.
