Geeking Out On Purple Today

Yep, I'm wearing my Magic Johnson 1987 MVP t-shirt, funky purple ring, and funky purple necklace.

I'm holding my breath that the rest of the series goes like it did last night. The Lakers played incredibly well and stayed away from that dangerous 3 that they always seem to miss. Keep jamming it in for 2 fellas - that really seemed to work!

On a more somber note, John Wooden is in grave condition this morning. Apparently he's been hospitalized for a few days. At 99 years old there is certainly reason for concern. My best wishes go with Coach and his family.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Sadly, I'm far too fat to fit in my #8 Kobe reversible jersey. But I think I'll bring it to work and carefully pin it to my cubicle walls so that everyone can understand my true colors.

You can always give that jersey to someone that will wear it - HINT!

I can't stop laughing at that.

Oh, you were serious. Whatever.

Mine. Mine. Mine. Neener neener neener. (I think that's what the younger brother says.)

Oh well, I have the t-shirt collection that includes Dodgers World Series, Los Angeles Raiders Super Bowl, Los Angeles Rams, and a plethora of others.

I'll live.

Nyeah!

Hate saying it: You win.

Aw, there is no win or lose - who do you think I will leave the collection to?

Now that sounds like a win-win situation to me.

I wrote a poem I think you'll like while I was watching the game last night, Apryl. It's scheduled to show up Sunday morning on my poetry site Will Shakespeare for Hire. (This morning's poem had already been scheduled.) Let me know what you think of it.

Well, if I know you then I'm more apt to believe you'll be saying unflattering things about my team.

You silly.

You might be surprised. It's called "Piranhas."

Just because I was pulling for the Suns before they lost (and my Bobcats before that) doesn't mean I don't appreciate good play... or that I don't think Kobe Bryant is the best player in the league, period. I like the verbal jousting that goes with team rivalries, but I'm not petty about losing.

Check out the poem. Seriously.
