Wild World of Wednesday - February 11, 2009
Here We Go Again: With much less fanfare so far, Brett Favre has retired again. I'm guessing the tearful press conference won't be happening this time around. Who knows, maybe he'll break out some more tears? I also bet the Jets are sorry that they didn't hold on to Chad Pennington. Not everyone believes that he will actually hang it up. The poll on the front page of ESPN asks a simple yes or no if you think he has played his last game.
And Again: Have we not heard enough about the whole baseball and steroids thing? Alex Rodriguez lied about the use of banned substances. Miguel Tejeda also lied about his knowledge of what a teammate used. The thing that I found the most interesting about these stories is that Congress is not interested in bringing A Rod in to testify. They said they have better things to do like running the country. Imagine that.

I too am over the steroids news just continue to keep it clean. I am not saying we shouldn't hear what happened but it shouldn't be breaking news and no one should be that surprised. But why is no ever talking about Bud Selig?. He was still, MLB head when all this was going on, and I am suppose to believe he didn't know, plz. When will he be called before congress.
As fare as ARod is concerned, I am not a fan, but my first thought is why the hell he thought he had to juice in Texas. Its freakin Texas they didn't have a chance at the playoffs. He should've simply taken all that money and hit 40 -45 homers, and prayed for a wild card berth. One of by biggest problems with A-Rod is when he signed with Texas. He could've had the money and the ring. Simply sign in a larger market and do commerical to increase his income but no A Rod had to sign with Texas. When he's ready to go he wants to moan and cry about I am never going to get a ring in Texas. Duh dude a 12yr could have told you that. You choose the money over the ring so don't cry about it. And the only reason he agreed to play 3rd for Yankees b/c he figured it will be an easy fix for a ring. Thats why I believe Yankees fans don't care for him. A-Rods not there for the Yankees but himself.
For a while I wanted Manny but you can keep him. Dunn signed with the Nats. He strikes out too much for me. Your man, Andruw Jones signed a minor league contract with Texas
Yeah, poor A Rod...not! As for Manny...I would love to keep him in Los Angeles. Oh, and good for Andruw. At least he has a job in these tough times.
Right, I agree with Doret. Why is steroid use breaking news? I pretty much assume many, many baseball players are on steroids. When I hear those kinds of announcements or read those headlines, I'm just like, OK, so...
Yeah, the stories about steroid use have become a cure for insomnia for me...zzzzzz......
