Another Tuesday Blogspotting

I'm back at home in the EIGHTY, yes EIGHTY degree weather and could not be happier! I don't know how people live in snow like that. I felt so out of place with all that snow and not a mountain or snowboard in sight. Ugh! At any rate, here's what's going on in the blogosphere...

It's currently -19 here with a -40 windchill. So I guess there is a 100 degree difference between here and you.

I am sure a lot of sports teams are having budget issues. I liked the idea from Because I Played Sports: Colleges should get rid of those waste of time classes that freshmen sleep through and get automatic A's.

I'm sure my old college is not giving out as much money to club sports as it did when I went there. That's bad news for the rugby teams.

Yeah, I don't know how you do it...I could never live where I could not escape the snow. It looks great on the mountains here but I can always come back to sea level for a minimum of 60.

The other issue in schools is the struggle between the arts, academics, and athletics. Each believes they are more important and should have more funding when all three are vital to truly having an education!

Yeah I was a major bank geek and they were always threatening to cut music programs at our school. Sports were never threatened there, but I know that's not the case everywhere. Especially with the sports I am involved with like running, swimming and rugby, those types of sports usually don't bring much income or press to the schools like football or basketball.

Yeah, music gets cut, theater goes, literature studies, and then sports that aren't football. It really is sad.
